Ignorance and Anti-Gay "Christian" Batshitery on Display

Recently Richard Dawkins tweeted as follows:

Most of the faithful are nice, harmless, decent people. But beware the minority who are sincere and take their faith seriously.
I'm sorry, but I believe Dawkins is too kind to those who fall into the category of "most of the faithful."  While they may not be out actively pressing for the hate and bigotry that are the primary message of conservative Christian denominations, their refusal to ask questions when hearing messages of hate and bigotry and their refusal to utilize their intellect and to accept modern knowledge enables the hate merchants to move forward with their foul message of hate.  And when it comes to those who are "sincere and take their faith seriously," these folks play an active role in making Christianity a force for evil in the world.  What am I talking about?  This morning I found a comment on this blog with a link to a blog called "A Christian View" - I did NOT publish the comment since as a matter of policy, this blog does not provide a platform for hate merchants.  But here's sampling of the batshitery that rants against the reality that sexual orientation is NOT a choice and is NOT changeable:
Can sexual immorality be excused by blaming it on your DNA? Are adulterers, sexual child predators, fornicators, and homosexuals, innocent of their sins due to a genetic malfunction?

1 John 3:4 Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness.

Sin is lawlessness. Sin is not a result of a hereditary genetic defect.

James 1:14-15 But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust.  15 Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death.

God does not give out death sentences for inherited DNA. Sin is an individual choice, not a biological mistake.
One can only ponder how the blog's author deals with the reality that the human genome project has confirmed that Adam and Eve did not exist as historical personages.  It's all a myth or an allegory at best.    The Fall, original sin - and the need for a Messiah all comes tumbling down.  Yet individuals like the author/editor of the blog noted above prefer to cling to ignorance and bigotry rather than use the minds that their creator gave them.  I'm sorry, but Dawkins is wrong.  Most of the faithful are in integral part of the problem.   Their laziness and intellectual closed mindedness are a root cause of the problem.  Without their continued financial support, the hate merchants would not be able to disseminate their foul poison.
